[He pauses to consider the question. He'd to his knowledge dodged many people knowing he had a birthday yesterday.] Well enough.

I'm slowly spreading the word among our group about our plans.

Cool. Janey wanted that household meeting so I figured it would be a good time to let everyone know, now that we have definite plans.

[Ready to go, they hed on up towards the roof.]

I have you something, by the way. For your birthday. It's gonna have to wait another day or two though, sorry. Been up to my ass in birthday plans this last week and I'm running slow on everything.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We'll be able to present our evidence at the meeting. [He paused at the comment about a gift and continued on.] You know I don't mind if something is late when it comes to gifts for my birthday.

I've been busy with the same things. Some of it was crazy to get. Dave's gift...I have yet to give. I know him, I know he thinks and what he does when certain things are around. At least, vaguely so. But that's not the point of today.

Today is about you and Rose, both of you fancy broads I'm very involved with and like it that way.

I know you don't mind, but I thought seeing as it's the first time we've had actual proper birthdays, you know, with other people around, I wanted to give it to you on the actual day.

[The comment on her and Rose makes her smile, chuckling softly as she links her arms around one of his, practically hugging it.]

Best dude. Comments like that are why you're still my number one guy. Though Jake runs a close second!

[He wraps an arm around her, leaning into her as they walk together towards the roof.]

So, I've made sure your gift will fit you. Both parts of it. Seeing as I do a lot of the sewing to repair our shit, that was pretty easy to achieve.

[That has her curious, looking up to him.]

Oh? What is it? Or do I have to wait til we're up on the roof?

I want to wait until we're up on the roof. You should get a good look at it when it is passed into your hot hands. [He leads the way up. It might not seem like it but he's excited. He wants to see what she thinks.]

'Kay!

[Excitedly, she begins tugging him as they get up to roof, as if that's somehow going to make him hurry.]

[It doesn't. Dirk takes his time, with a little bit of amusement at how excited she is. When they get up to the roof, he sets the pack down and flips it open. Inside are two things, a kickass set of boots and a long dark coat. He taps both before lifting them up.] Check this out.

[He pulls open the coat, and inside are pockets for ammo, for damn near anything.] The boots bottom are dragon scale. You kick someone with those and they're going to feel it for days. They're fairly flexible so it's not like you're tracking around on bricks.

[Once she sees what he has her face lights up, hands clasping together as she does a little bounce on the spot.]

Oh my god!! That is so amazing, like holy shit!

[She reaches out to touch the jacket, holding it for a few seconds before letting go to throw her arms around Dirk instead.]

I love you, you're the best.

[He rocks just a little with the sudden weight of Roxy then wraps his arms around her. That tells him he made the right call. Naturally he would but still, best to make sure.]

That's my specialty.

[Holding it for a few more seconds she lets go, instead reaching for the coat and putting it on, curiously feeling all the little pockets and whatnot.]

[Dirk releases her and stands up to take a slow walk around her. Like a talior, he straightens out how the coat falls on her shoulders, makes sure the sleeves are straight. Once he's done, he steps back.] Shit, it looks just like I thought it would. You look great, Roxy.

[She's pleased he likes it, though she soon rumples it up again by hopping on the spot once excitedly before rushing forward and giving him yet another hug.]

Thaaaanks! So much, oh my god what a great gift!

[Dirk takes a second to judge accurately what he should do. Then he hugs her back and spins her around once.] I knew you'd like it.

Not just like it, I love it. Thanks Dirk. Man I've said that like six times already, tell me to shut up.

Why? I love hearing it. This is your day, you know that right? What you say goes.

You'll just force yourself to listen to all my praise for you, right? Hehe.

I've been making my present for you too. When did we get so awesome?

Yeah. I guess it's good to remember it every once in a while! Really though, I love it. I'm gonna wear this forever, even if it's too warm to wear it. Because oh my god, I look so badass.

I'm glad you like it. It's good for all types of weather, but specifically great for the winter.

Yeah! And look at all these pockets and stuff, I can stash so much stuff in here, it's great.

Exactly. I know how pockets are your favorite thing, so I included enough you might run out of shit to put in them.
