Character NAME: Roxy Lalonde
Canon & MEDIUM: Homestuck/MS Paint Adventures (Webcomic)
Canon PULL-POINT: Jane, Dirk, Jake, Roxy: Enter.
Character AGE: 15, almost 16.
Character ABILITIES:

Rogue of Void: Roxy possesses abilities due to being a hero of the Void. Not much is known about her powers as of yet, other than they were the reason that their session was blacked out- no longer allowing UU/uu from viewing them or their progress. The fenestrated windows she built required travelling through the void in order to move from one place to another, plus her dreamself regularly wandered off Derse and out into the void and it's dreambubbles. Aside from that, nothing is currently known.
Riflekind/Fistkind: These were Roxy's two strife specibus of choice, meaning that she is proficient both in the use of a rifle as well in hand-to-hand combat.
Hacking: Roxy was the 'hacker' of her group, who excels in the field of hacking and computing in general. It would not take her long to understand a piece of technology or code, and to break into it if it is possible.
Drinking: She can probably drink you under a table, literally :|

Character HISTORY:

After typing this all out I figured I could probably just have linked to her Wiki page but w/e

Trying to explain the events of the original session would end up very longwinded and probably only confuse people including myself. Plus most of it isn’t exactly relevant to current events so I will only go into details of the post-scratch universe.

Upon finding out their game was unwinnable, the only option left for the kids playing the SBURB Beta session (John, Dave, Rose and Jade) was to scratch the disk, effectively causing a hard reboot not only of the game but the entire universe. Unlike the previous session this one takes place a few years later- Sburb Beta began in April 2009 whereas Sburb Alpha is beginning in November 2011. Rather than being 13 years old the kids are 15 or almost 16. Not only are they older and more mature but it seems as though they have spent a long time preparing themselves for the challenges the game will provide.

In this post-scratch universe, the roles between children and guardian have been switched. The guardians of the original session now make up the group of kids preparing to play the SBURB game (Jane, Jake, Dirk and Roxy) while the beta group play the role of their guardians or grandparents. John is the grandfather of Jane, Jade grandmother to Jake whilst Dave is now the elder brother of Dirk and Rose mother to Roxy.

Roxy has grown up in the same house that Rose lived in during the beta universe. Her mother Rose was a famous author- her best selling series “Complacency of the Learned” meant that the family was very well off yet Rose is apparently no longer alive after being killed by the “Batterwitch”, otherwise known as the Condesce. In the past Roxy had attempted to explain to her best friend Jane that her mother was no longer alive, yet Jane did not believe her. Instead of continuing the argument she seemed to just accept that Jane would not believe it- instead just going along with stories about how her mother would fill the alcohol cupboard or continuing their passive-aggressive feud when in reality she lived alone.

Dirk however, not only understood but sympathized with Roxy. With Dave dead, also assassinated by the Condesce, the main reason for Dirk and Roxy showing interest in the game was because they had been told that upon entering they could resurrect and be reunited with their dead guardians. The two of them make up the Derse dreamers for this session and have both been awake for some time even though that have not yet entered the game. Dirk is able to stay awake on Earth and on Derse simultaneously whereas Roxy’s dream self is prone to sleepwalking and wandering the void.

Although she wanted to see her mother, Roxy was very unsure about playing the game, convinced that by doing so they would be playing right into the Batterwitch’s hands and helping her plans advance. She even went as far as to sent a bogus file to Jane’s computer to stop her friend from playing the game. Although she later changed her mind and agreed to play, Jane ran the file before Roxy had a chance to stop her, which resulted in the explosion of Jane’s computer.

Shortly before this happened, a failed assassination attempt on Jane and memories of her dream-self waking on Prospit caused the girl to begin believing what Roxy had been trying to tell her all along in regards to the dangers of the game and of the Condesce. Roxy is certain that (and all evidence points to) the Condesce’s alternate identity being “Betty Crocker”, icon and leader of the Crocker empire that Jane will inherit once she reaches adulthood.
Jane wants to believe what Roxy has been telling her all along. In order to try and prove it, Roxy uses her appearifier to transport her friend’s Colonel Sassacre’s book from Jane’s room to her own. Unfortunately once it materialized it ended up dropping onto Roxy’s cat Frigglish and killing it. Revealing that the cat did not originally belong to her- it appeared after she had messed around with a machine in the basement. Roxy decides that she should send the cat back to its original owner so they know what happened to it, even if it is dead. Roxy believes that owner to be her mother, although in actuality it was pre-scratch Rose.

Using one of her fenestrated planes Roxy makes her way through the basement. making her way through all the cloned cats that have used the area as a breeding ground, she comes across the transmaterializer and before sending the cat back she uses the machine to try and appearify the person that the machine is locked in to- believing it to be her mother. It creates a paradox clone of Rose (or rather Paradox slime) which Roxy captchalogues, putting on the scarf that appeared with it before she heads over to the appearifier/sendificater and transports the dead Frigglish back to his original home
Once a tribe of hungry looking creatures appear she uses the fenestrated window to escape - only for GCat to knock out the other end and transport it to Dirk's house. This resulted in Roxy being stuck in the void between the two. An unknown troll wearing the Pisces symbol appears and attacks her, but roxy is able to escape back out of the window she had used to enter. She escapes from the "cat hunting chess bandits" and locks herself inside a room .
A hatch opens above her and she climbs out, giving the reader a few of her neighbourhood as the Crocker-drones approach. Roxy fights with them and it is confirmed that she and Dirk live 413 years in the future, on a flooded Earth.
The Crockerdrones eventually retreat but not before setting most of her neighbourhood on fire. The sky also begins to fill up with something known as the Red Miles- strands of Red that are destryoging the world as well as the entire universe. Roxy rushes back to her house, rounding up some of the neighbours and getting them to help put out the flames as she begins to set up Jake's equipment.
She begins to prepare for entering her own session, however she is killed by the Red Miles. At the same time, Jane is also killed on Derse by the Red Miles, Jake is unconscious on his island and Dirk is unconcious on the roof of his apartment, as well as his dreamself being unconcious next to the dead Jane.

During all this time, Roxy's dreamself wandered the void, in and out of dreambubbles. It was present for several events in the story yet as she is still sleepwalking, Roxy has no memory of this. A seperate dream version of Dirk which fully appeared once the other versions of himself were knocked out, takes hold of the sleeping Roxy, throwing her out of the dream bubble and directing her back towards Derse before he wakes up in order to save everybody.

Dirk awakens, grabbing some items and one of his robots before plugging in Roxy's fenestrated window that GodCat transported to his apartment. He enters it, exiting in the laboratory near her house and makes his way over there. Releasing his robot, he orders it to complete the set up process for Roxy to enter the game as he kisses her corpse. This wakes up her dreamself, just in time for her to spot the KO Dirk and dead Jane on the floor. She kneels down, trying to kiss Jane in order to wake up her dream self yet she in unable to do it. Dream Dirk wakes up at this point after sending his decapitated head to Jake in order to be kissed. Booting her out of the way and kissing the other girl before grabbing Roxy and flying off with her on his rocket board.

They escape Derse and enter the frog table on one of the reckoning meteors, which transports them to the temple on Jake's island. They pick up Jane, who transported there via a portal on Prospit, and fly over to where Jake is. Dirk wakes him up and hides, allowing Jake to kiss his severed head in order to create a stable time loop. All three of Jake's friend witness this occur, then the entire group is transported into the medium.

Character PERSONALITY:

Roxy comes across as a fairly open, fun loving girl who is always up for chatting and socializing with her friends. There are times where she jokes or pokes fun at them but if you look past that it is obvious that she cares a lot about all of her friends and has their best interests at heart. It should also be noted that more often than not, she is drunk.
There are times when she comes off as being silly or immature, using curse words just for the sake of it and starting drunken rants but she has also shown her serious side. One of her major concerns is that entering the game will put them all in dangerous situation, inevitably playing into the Condesce’s hands. It is something that she has given a lot of thought to, weight the pros against the cons before eventually agreeing to take part- wishing to be reunited with her mother is the main driving force behind Roxy playing the Sburb Alpha.

Roxy is in love with the idea of wizards and magic, largely inspired by her mother Rose who wrote a series of best-selling novels based on the genre. She has poster art on the walls of her room relating to these books and also named her cat after one of its characters. She keeps journals too where she enjoys to write her own stories, usually wizard-based fan-fiction, but seems to be embarrassed by them, probably because she looks on them as rubbish in comparison to the work of her mother as well as the fact that she is often drunk when writing them. She holds her deceased mother in high regard and seems to really look up to her, which is a harsh comparison to the beta universe when the two of them seemed to have a very strained relationship, at least from Rose’s point of view. Although it is never directly mentioned, you gain the impression that Roxy is lonely and wishes that her mother were around- even her narration page states that "It is fair to say most of your leanings are governed by a BENT FOR NOSTALGIA."

She also shows a major interest in science, especially that of an “esoteric” nature. She built the fenestrated planes that allow her to transport from one place to another and has likely built several other mechanical and technological devices.
She has also spent a good deal of time dabbling in ectobiology. Roxy has a love for cats and using the DNA of her cat Frigglish she made multiple clones. The shelf on her room contains mutated specimens that went wrong- presumably from when she first started out and wasn’t any good at it.
Carrying on the technological theme, Roxy’s other interests delve into the subject of computers and gaming. A lover of “old school technology” her favorite games are more retro ones such as Earthbound and her room is filled with various gaming consoles, all pink in colour. Skilled when it comes to computers she is also a very capable programmer and hacker. She sent a file to Jane’s laptop which caused it to explode and decided to steal the Sburb files from the Crocker Corporation- the process was so easy she became convinced that playing was exactly what the Condesce wanted them to do.

Both Roxy and Dirk have a decent knowledge of Alternian trolls, which neither Jane nor Jake understand. This is because they lived in the 2400s, 413 years before their friends and were the only two humans left on Earth as far as they knew. This is because the Batterwitch invaded Earth in 2011 and took over, forcing humans to live by troll culture before they were eventually killed. This is why Roxy often uses phrases associated with troll culture such as calling birthdays “wriggling days” and describing herself as a “pale friend to all”, because Earth's troll history is as well known to them as the human part of it is. Not only that but the very fact that they have grown up alone and in hiding shows just how strong willed the two of them must be.

One aspect of her personality that is not obvious from the start, is just how kind-natured she is. It may not be obvious and sometimes it comes across as bitching, but Roxy really does care a lot about her friends, putting their happiness before her own. This is why she states that she cannot "have a horse in the race" when it comes to winning Jake's affections, because both Jane and Dirk have an interest in him. She tries to get Dirk to loosen up and get in touch with his emotions and feels that Jane needs to stop "being such a tight-ass" which is why she pushes her into confession to Jake. She cares a lot for Calliope too, once she is told that her friend may not ever wake up again, Roxy declares that she will "call her name a million times, shouting it into the void until she comes back."
It is not only her friends that benefit from Roxy's kind nature. She has spent many years using her appearifier technology to steal food (usually pumpkins) from various times and places in the past, making them appear in her home so that she can feed her hungry neighbours. This shows just how suited she is to her Sburb title as Rogue of Void: an earlier discussion with Calliope had explained that a Rogue was more or less a Robin-Hood type of character.

When not talking about world-ending disasters and assassination attempts, Roxy is pretty much a typical teenage girl. She seems to constantly be on the lookout for a relationship. After learning that Dirk’s interests lay elsewhere and that Jane had an interest in Jake, she seems to wallow in the fact that she is destined to be best friend to all yet girlfriend to none.
However this does not stop her from flirting with any of them even though usually she is doing it for fun and it is not meant to be taken seriously. She also likes to roleplay at times, especially those of a flirty nature. Most of these take place with Dirk’s AI, the auto responder. When Dirk and the responder are discussing the matter, AR tells dirk that Roxy is “a lonely hacker teen who just wants a boyfriend” and that it can “give her what he can’t” which leads one to assume that these flirt RP sessions get pretty steamy.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION

Chosen WEAPON:
A wand, if possible. Reasons for this- even though a rifle is her main weapons (and her laser-rifle at home is pretty damn powerful) Roxy has always been drawn to wizards and magic. She thinks it is awesome and has always wished that it was real. So, if she were given the chance to have an ACTUAL real wand with REAL powers, there is no way she would turn that chance down.
Chosen SKILLSET:
As mentioned before, Roxy is no newcomer to battle or the experiences associated with it. She has trained herself in Rifle use as well as hand to hand combat and would have no problem with doing missions.

Third PERSON:
Roxy had not been given much time to reflect on recent events, for all of them had happened so fast. At first she was rushing to enter the game before everything around her was destroyed, but it came too late, she was dead. She didn't know how long she had been in that state, it felt like no more than a blink of an eye before she awoken again, this time as her dreamself, surrounded by the burning, crumbling purple that was Derse.

Again, there was no time to stop and study the situation, for soon enough she was hurtling through space, using transporters and time-travelling, meeting all of her friends for the first time and watching one of them kiss a severed head. What do you say to that? Before there was any time to say anything, the area around them began to glow, proof that they were not being transported into their session at last. Everything had gone wrong but that was alright, because now they were all together, and whatever awaited them in the medium would be alright.

...Except once the radiant glow dispersed, Roxy found herself not where she had expected to be. Once the initial shock of being alone again wore off, she pulled out her phone, assuming that the four of them had merely been transported to their own lands. A frown fell developed as she was unable to make contact with the three of them. With any of them in fact, the device simply did not work. This was not her world, this wasn't Sburb at all. She didn't know how or why, but she could just tell.

Searching the room for a moment, the girl noticed a doorway, taking a step towards it before the voice of a woman behind her caused her to stop dead in her tracks.

"Welcome to Exsilium," it said. Turning slowly, Roxy studied the unknown woman. What was Exsilium?

"Where am I? There's been some sort of giant screw up here, this isn't where I'm meant to be." She had no idea where she was, but this woman seemed to know. Instead of receiving an answer, she simply turned, exiting the room via the hallway behind her. That was enough for now, Roxy was not one to trust someone so easily yet at this point in time she had no choice. She needed was to find a way out of here, to get back to her friends and do what they were meant to do.
